5D4NN Sandakan Wildlife Reserve : Sandakan - Selingan (Turtle) Island - Sepilok - Bilit - Ox Bow Lake - City Tour - Sandakan

Tour details:

Day 1 :  ARRIVAL / SEPILOK ORANG UTAN CENTRE

AM flight arrival at Sandakan Airport, meet and transfer to Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre to experience a close encounter with the "Wild Men Of Borneo".  In here, orphaned and pet-Orang Utans are taught of life in the wild and you can witness the daily feeding.  The 10 minutes walk to the feeding platform is on wooden bridges that pass under the massive trees of the Borneo rainforest.  After watching the feeding and a video presentation of explaining more the work and philosophy of the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, you are taken to Sepilok Jungle Resort for check in.  Dinner and Overnight.  (Lunch / Dinner)

Day 2 :  SELINGAN ISLAND

After breakfast, transfer to jetty for approximately 1 hour boat ride by speedboat to Selingan Island (40km).  Check into chalet.  Free at leisure to explore island, swim and snorkel.  There is a video show at 1900hrs then followed by dinner.  After dinner, wait for signal from the Park Ranger before we proceed in small groups to watch Green Turtle lay eggs on the beach, transplanting of eggs to hatchery and release of baby turtles to the sea.  Tourists are welcome to assist.  This island is a park conservation area since 1977 and turtles have been nesting here every night throughout the year.  (Lunch / Dinner) 

Note : Photographing turtles are strictly prohibited between 6pm - 6am.

Day 3 :  SEPILOK / BILIT

Return to Sandakan by boat.    Heading to Bilit, on the Kinabatangan River to spend couple of days.   After check in at the lodge, go for enjoy a late afternoon cruise in search of wildlife, including Proboscis Monkeys in their natural habitat, wild orang utans and strange look hornbills are also often sighted.  (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 4 :  OX BOW LAKE

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills.  At 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to view more birds and wildlife.  Proceed to the Ox-Bow Lake for a short jungle walk (if weather permits).  Experience the wilderness of Borneo. You have the option to participate in our conservation project by planting trees at our 64 acres adopted land.  In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife.  After dinner an optional (at a surcharge) night safari cruise spotting nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds.  (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 5:  SANDAKAN / DEPARTURE

After breakfast, retrace journey back to Sandakan.  Lunch enroute before proceed for a short tour of Sandakan town including water village,  The Agnes Keith House and The Australian War Memorial.  Transfer to Sandakan Airport for departure flight.  (Breakfast / Lunch)
