Many tourists have visits Kota Kinabalu without much knowledge of it. Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton, is a rather young city with about one hundred years of history. The Kota Kinabaly Heritage Walk was launched specially by a group of tour guides whose concern of preserving and conserving historical, culture and nature has brought them together to form and designed this heritage walk programme with the aim and priority in contributing to this area.
This heritage walk is relatively easy that takes about 2 - 2 1/2 hours walking and all who participate in this walk will be given a KK Heritage Walk Cap and a booklet on KK Heritage Walk. The starting point is at the Padang Merdeka -- a venue that is widely used for important events in the city and the walk will cover historical sites and buildings that includes Atkinson Clock Tower, Malaysia Monument, North Borneo War Memorial, Australian Place, Gaya Street, Sabah Tourism Building and many others. There will be a short tea break at a local kopitiam and a treasure hunt that will leave you with a memorable experience and compliments your trip to Kota Kinabalu.
