4D3N Borneo Wildlife Encounter : Sandakan - Sepilok - Sukau - Ox Bow Lake - Danum Valley - Lahad Datu

Day 1: SEPILOK / SUKAU
Meet at Sandakan Airport upon arrival, drive to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center.  Orphaned and injured orangutans are brought to Sepilok to be rehabilitated to return to forest life. Sepilok is a primary lowland forest, a fine showcase of Borneo's remaining rain forest. Witness the feeding of Orangutan from a platform. Then transfer to Sukau road. Check-in to the lodge.  In late afternoon, river cruises to the Menanggul River a tributary of Kinabatangan River in search for wildlife, including the unique Proboscis monkeys, hornbills, kingfishers and many others. The Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the best places in Southeast Asia to observe wildlife. (Lunch / Dinner)

Day 2: OX BOW LAKE
0600hrs early morning river cruise to the Ox Bow Lake. (Oxbow lake was formed by large meanders of the river that have been cut off from the main channel). The trip will take you to see more primates and birds. Near the lake you can take a short walk to experience the riverine forest vegetation and see the unique strangling fig trees, lianas or climbers, and other interesting flora. After morning cruise, return to lodge for breakfast. Free at leisure. In late afternoon, proceed for another river cruise in Kinabatangan to search for more wildlife and birds. Overnight. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 3: DANUM VALLEY
After breakfast, transfer to Lahad Datu and take a 2 ½ hour drive to Borneo Rainforest Lodge. Explore Borneo's primary rainforest, to see birds and wildlife. In the evening, experience a night drive in an open jeep with spotlight in search of nocturnal wildlife such as flying squirrel, Buffy fish owl, civet, wild boar and others. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. (Lunch / Dinner)

Day 4: DANUM JUNGLE WALK / DEPARTURE
0600hrs morning birdwalk with Danum Naturalist to the Canopy Walkway. See the tall Bornean trees with an impressive height of more than 50 meters! The forest is home to 270 bird species and over 100 mammal species. Return for breakfast. Continue for a short nature trail walk. Free at leisure until afternoon scheduled transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for your next destination. (Breakfast / Lunch)
